Omni Development Group has partnered with The New Mexico Mortgage Finance Authority (MFA), and the City of Albuquerque to implement portions of a new HUD program known as the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP). Omni-Development Group is a non-bank owned, for profit, Community Development Corporation.

The MFA recognized Omni in late September 2009 for purchasing the first NSP home in New Mexico. This home will be sold to an income eligible buyer below market value. For example: A family of four earning less than $74,100 per year can potentially purchase this newly renovated 3 bedroom 2 bath home for a mortgage payment that is lower than they currently spend on rent.

Omni will initially buy a minimum of 10 foreclosed homes in Rio Rancho under the MFA contract and 24 homes in Albuquerque. NSP Program income is returned to a revolving loan fund to purchase and rehab other NSP eligible properties. This is a great deal for both the buyer and the surrounding neighborhood. Just one vacant foreclosed property in a neighborhood can trigger blight according the MFA Board Chair, Lt. Governor, Diane Denish.
